On 7th-8th July, 2017, International Poultry Forum was successfully launched in Shanghai Marriott Hotel by LyJa Media-International Poultry China, focusing on the topic “the Construction of Smart Industry and Precision Production”. Participants reached 200 covering the whole industry from poultry breeding, equipment, internet of things, food to supermarket and catering. They are representatives from China Agricultural University, Yukou Poultry, Cobb, Gargil, CP Group, Wens, New Hope Liuhe, Otaqi, Kemin Industries, Springsnow, Yongda Food, Big Dutchman, Elong, Guangxing Group, Big Herdsman, Venco, Marel, MTC, METRO, KFC.

“All industries talk about intelligence, then what is the difference of poultry industry intelligence from other industries?” Li Dingding in her speech remarked that many equipment enterprises had proposed the concept “Intelligence” during IPPF, VIV and China Animal Husbandry Exposition 2017 and were mainly interested in application of automation, intelligentization, digitalization, and IoTs. As to poultry production, the driven force should always rely on consumers. A better consumption can boost the development of the whole industry. This year we turned to “Intelligence Industry Engineering and Precision Production System”, expecting to find an approach which can truly promote the healthy development of poultry protein production and consumption.

Greg Watt in his welcoming speech remarked: “it’s a critical time for the development of global poultry industry.” All circles are very interested in topics such as the processing of antibiotic-free products, the increasing speed of broiler quantity, and the broiler quality, etc. “methinks: we should also have a discussion about those topics, and the industry should explore solutions to those problems. Accordingly, we would probably confront with some complications, for instance, by 2050, the global population will grow 2 billions, then how to meet the increased 2 billions people’s food amount requirement? Therefore, the importance of today’s and tomorrow’s topics are vital. We hope we can continuously promote the development of poultry industry through intelligence industry engineering and precision production system construction.
On the forum, the first topic was focused on “the Construction of Intelligent Poultry Industry in Agriculture 4.0 (the approaching age of intelligent agriculture)” leaded by Yang Changsuo, the director of National Poultry Engineering Technology Center. Eleven industrial scholars, experts and entrepreneurs revolving around the topic shared their research results and viewpoints.
The forum lasted two days. On 8th July, eleven thematic reporters from Shangdong Agricultural University, DuPont, Cobb, Kemin Industries, BASF, Shang Food Safety Federation, Ovodan Foods, Shineway Group, MTC, Shanghai Ocean University, Haier Industrial Finance they launched an in-depth discussion upon “Comprehensive Precision Production System Optimizing Measures” and “Intelligent Technology and Future Foods”, and shared their experience and viewpoint with attendees.
